Dartford Football Club

Princess Park stadium in Dartford, Kent is a 4,100 capacity arena that has been designed with two clear goals in mind: to provide a permanent home for Darford FC and to be the UK's first sustainable sports stadium. The £6.5m scheme by Architect Alan Conisbee & Associates incorporates a broad range of environmental features but what sets the design apart from other contemporary stadia is the bold use of whitewood Spruce Glulam structural engineered timber from Finnforest, skilfully installed by Hatrick.

Hatrick not only installed the tapered Glulam cantilever rafters but also the cold rolled purlins and the Finnforest structural spruce plywood, to take the “Sedum” green roofing above all the terracing areas. The most striking element of the project are the internally exposed feature ‘S' curved Glulam rafters to the club house roof. These were skilfully installed by Hatrick along with the cold rolled purlins and plywood decking.

Both the Glulam and plywood were supplied by Finnforest will full PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) environmental chain of custody certification.
